Skip Counting

We will use our knowledge of addition to learn Skip Counting

When we skip count instead of going one number more on the list you go the number you are skip counting by more on the list.

Example 1 : Skip count by 4 starting from 1.

1 + 4 = 5 , 5 + 4 = 9, 9 + 4 = 13, 13 + 4 = 17, 17 + 4 = 21, and so on.

1, 5, 9, 13, 17, 21, and so on.

Example 2 : Skip count by 10 starting from 3.

3 + 10 = 13, 13 + 10 = 23, 23 + 10 = 33, 33 + 10 = 43, 43 + 10 = 53, and so on.

3, 13, 23, 33, 43, 53, and so on.

Example 3 : Skip count by 5.

5 + 5 = 10, 10 + 5 = 15, 15 + 5 = 20, 20 + 5 = 25, 25 + 5 = 30, and so on.

5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, and so on.
